GREATER LONDON, ENGLAND, JUL 8 – The UK competition watchdog is reviewing whether the £1.2 billion merger will reduce competition in food-to-go markets serving 30,500 employees, with stakeholder comments due by July 22.
- On July 8, 2025, the UK's Competition and Markets Authority launched a consultation on Greencore's £1.2 billion takeover of Bakkavor.
- The CMA initiated this invitation to comment ahead of a formal investigation due by July 22, focusing on possible competition concerns.
- Agreed in May as a reverse takeover, the deal will create a large food company with approximately £4 billion in yearly revenue and a workforce of around 30,500 employees.
