Comp AI sets eyes on a continuously agentic future for security and compliance
The startup will use the funding to expand AI agents that draft policies, collect audit evidence and continuously monitor compliance controls.
- On Thursday, cybersecurity startup Comp announced a $34 million Series A funding round led by Roo Capital and Grand Ventures.
- Founders Lewis Carhart , Claudio Fuentes , and Mariano Fuentes launched the startup after their previous venture, LeapAI, exposed the tedious nature of SOC 2 compliance.
- Comp automates security policy writing, evidence collection, and continuous compliance monitoring, while offering "AI-powered penetration testing" to proactively test codebases and infrastructures for vulnerabilities, Carhart said.
- While the platform monitors evolving risks, human workers remain essential for reviewing policy drafts and approving agentic workflows; safeguards must increase as autonomous agents take on consequential actions.
- Addressing security risks in the agentic era, Comp competes with firms like Vanta and Drata while planning to deploy this Series A capital toward product expansion.
