Penticton community champion Janet Parker awarded King Charles III medal

Janet Parker was awarded the King Charles III Coronation Medal on Jan. 21 for her support of Penticton's Discovery House Addiction Recovery Program.
MP Dan Albas presented the medal after speeches by Penticton Mayor Julius Bloomfield and Discovery House Executive Director Blaine Russell.
Discovery House is preparing for a fundraiser to expand its services and address the lengthy waitlist it faces.
Parker expressed hope for more treatment beds and stated, 'You have to turn pain into something positive.
