CDU and CSU - Unions faction vize Middelberg no longer wants to exclude AfD from committee chairs in the Bundestag

The Bundestag may leave out the AfD in the chair of committees, but not everyone in the Union wants that.

The Vice-President of the Union, Middelberg, has also advocated that the AfD should no longer be deprived of committee chairs in the Bundestag.

If the AfD is prevented from chairing committees, it can continue to stage as a martyr, says CDU politician Johann Wadephul. He relies on another strategy.

In the Bundestag, the AfD has so far been denied important parliamentary posts. Union faction vize Wadephul now wants to grant presidencies to selected right-wing radicals. However, his idea gets sharp criticism within the party.

According to demands from the CDU that the AfD no longer withhold the chairmanship of committees in the future Bundestag, the deputy group chairman Mathias Middelberg (CDU) also spoke out in favour of a different way of dealing with the party.
