It is a funny birthday for Meribel. On 24 July 2024, the Savoyard station was delighted to be part of the adventure that the 2030 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games were awarded to the French Alps. A year later, the Savoyard station decided to withdraw. Explanations.
The station announces its withdrawal from the competition if it is evicted in favour of Val d'Isère for the women's events.
The Mayor of Meribel refused to accept only the Paralympic events, as Edgar Grospiron proposed this Thursday morning, the committee wishing to distribute the alpine ski events between Courchevel and Val d'Isère. Meribel therefore withdrew from the adventure of the 2030 Winter Games.
On the eve of the final sprint, the announcement made the effect of a paving stone in the pond: after months of waiting, the Meribel station withdrew, for the moment, from the organisation of the Olympic Winter 2030. It called on the organizing committee to return to its original project.
