U.S. Coast Guard Seizes Sailboat in Probe of Lynette Hooker's Disappearance in the Bahamas, Sources Say
Investigators are interviewing witnesses and reviewing another sailboat as they intensify the search for Lynette Hooker, who was last seen on April 4, 2026.
On Saturday, the Coast Guard seized "Soulmate," the sailboat Lynette Hooker was aboard when she disappeared April 4 in the Bahamas, intensifying the monthlong investigation into her disappearance.
Brian Hooker reported his wife fell overboard during an April 4 nighttime dinghy ride near Elbow Cay in the Abaco Islands; he was later released after five days of questioning by Bahamian authorities.
Karli Aylesworth, daughter of the missing Michigan woman, questioned Brian's account, stating, "I just don't like his story," as Coast Guard Investigative Service investigators conduct witness interviews.
After departing the Bahamas on Friday, "Soulmate" was intercepted by the Coast Guard and brought to Fort Pierce, Florida, where investigators plan to search the vessel for evidence.
Brian remains uncharged with any crime in the ongoing investigation, and his current whereabouts are unknown according to recent reports.
