After remaining in commissions since December 2021, the Congress of the State of Coahuila unanimously approved on Monday the creation of the Law for the Protection, Support and Promotion of Breastfeeding for the State of Coahuila of Zaragoza, an initiative presented by deputies Edna Dávalos and Luz Elena Morales.
At the beginning of the ordinary session, the State Congress endorsed a series of reforms and new provisions aimed at strengthening the rights of women and girls, with an emphasis on health, labour equality, sport and social inclusion. Among the approved opinions was the creation of the Law for the Protection, Support and Promotion of Breastfeeding, promoted by deputies Edna Ileana Dávalos Elizondo and Luz Elena Guadalupe Morales Núñez.
