US Edition'Clueless' Sequel Series Gets Scrapped at Peacock
Alicia Silverstone was set to return as Cher Horowitz, and CBS Studios and Paramount still remain interested in the project, sources said.

- CBS Studios and Universal Television planned the series, with Gossip Girl creators Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage writing alongside Jordan Weiss. Original film writer-director Amy Heckerling and producer Robert Lawrence also served as executive producers.
- Alicia Silverstone was set to reprise her iconic 1995 role as Cher. The 1995 film, based on Jane Austen's 1815 novel Emma, previously spawned a TV series that aired from 1996 to 1999.
- Despite the cancellation, CBS Studios and Paramount remain supportive of the intellectual property. Reports indicate they may seek an alternative home for the series, expecting strong interest when taken to market.
- Peacock previously developed a separate Clueless project in 2020 focused on Dionne Davenport, Cher's best friend. That earlier effort did not move beyond development, marking a pattern of unsuccessful revival attempts at the streamer.
