Manchester City Star Could Make Rare Cross-City Move with Manchester United in Transfer 'Discussions': Report
- Manchester City defender Rayan Ait-Nouri is set to depart the club, with Manchester United reportedly among the teams interested in acquiring the Algerian left-back.
- Since joining from Wolverhampton Wanderers on a five-year contract in summer 2025, Ait-Nouri has struggled to secure regular playing time at the Etihad Stadium.
- Manager Enzo Maresca currently prefers Josko Gvardiol or Nico, leaving Ait-Nouri with slim prospects; he played the full 90 minutes against Norwich City in the Carabao Cup.
- Sporting director Hugo Viana is working on an exit plan, with intermediaries reopening lines of communication between the clubs to explore a potential move in the New Year.
- United need defensive reinforcements beyond Luke Shaw, and a successful deal would mark the first direct transfer between the rivals since Owen Hargreaves made the move in 2011.
