Australia's climate change minister, Chris Bowen, has warned that the number of coastal communities at high and very high risk will increase significantly by 2050, with at least 1.5 million people in coastal areas affected by the impacts of climate change. The minister said the government would soon announce an "ambitious and achievable" plan to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
