CityVote 2026: Ottawa Municipal Election Results
Knox won about 9,980 votes, while Boileau conceded after one term and said the city needs change.
On Monday, October 26, voters across Ontario went to the polls to elect municipal leadership, with communities reporting unofficial results indicating significant shifts in local governance.
Local councils across the region will look very different as a wave of fresh faces takes charge of municipalities, impacting regional budget, transit, and homelessness decisions over the next four years.
In Timmins, mayor-elect Rob Knox defeated incumbent Michelle Boileau with around 6,000 more votes; Waterloo's Shannon Weber beat Dorothy McCabe by 6,379 votes; Cambridge's Scott Hamilton unseated Jan Liggett.
New mayors will lead councils navigating social issues and economic development. Knox described the current period as a 'crossroads of a fantastic time' for Timmins.
While unofficial results were released Monday, official election results will be certified by local returning officers before becoming final, with school board trustee results expected on Tuesday, October 27.
