Today, the flag of the global peace initiative "Mayors for Peace" is flying in over 600 German cities. The flag was also hoisted in front of the town hall in Ilmenau.
Eighty years ago, people in the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki experienced the indescribable horror of a nuclear bomb launch. Since then, the survivors of this catastrophe have warned of the consequences of the use of nuclear weapons. In Germany, this year again, more than 600 cities are making a clear commitment to nuclear disarmament, war and peaceful coexistence of people worldwide with the "Mayors-for-Peace-Flag" in front of the town halls…
Many town halls in the county of Wesel are now flying a flag of peace dust. Cities are participating in a worldwide day of action for a peaceful world without nuclear weapons.
