Circana has returned with its monthly overview of the US video game spending. Here are the top-grossing video games and hardware of January 2025, as well as other insights into the state of the market.
Matt Piscatella of Circana revealed that spending on video game hardware in January 2025 experienced a significant 45% drop compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching $205 million. This decline represents the lowest total expenditure on hardware since the $131 million in January 2020, a clear indication of a slowdown in console purchases.
