On Wednesday, CIBC announced a new partnership with professional hockey player and Rookie of the Year Matthew Schaefer, who joins as the organization's newest Team CIBC Athlete.
As the recently announced Rookie of the Year, Schaefer has quickly distinguished himself as a rising star on the ice through his record-setting performance, highlighting his remarkable talent and ability to inspire those around him.
Kevin Li, President and CEO, CIBC Bank USA, stated, "We are proud to welcome Matthew Schaefer as our newest Team CIBC Athlete," noting he represents excellence, ambition, and leadership.
The athlete has participated for years in the CIBC Run for the Cure, saying, "CIBC is a brand I truly admire, not just for their leadership in the community, but for fighting for causes that have deeply affected my family."
Joining a roster of Team CIBC Athletes including Connor McDavid, Connor Bedard, Christine Sinclair, and Marielle Thompson, Schaefer adds to initiatives promoting gender equity in sports and supporting impactful community programs.
