Chorney-Booth: What to expect with Calgary restaurants as we move into 2026

I’ve been writing this column for just over seven years — not nearly as long as my predecessor John Gilchrist, but still a good chunk of time — and if I’ve learned anything, it’s that the restaurant industry in Calgary is never predictable. Just as I love to be surprised by a dish or combination of flavours I’ve never seen before, you can’t beat the thrill of a restaurateur coming up with a successful concept no one saw coming.
