A 27-year-old Chinese graduate student at Kyoto University has been arrested on suspicion of unlawful entry into a venue for the TOEIC English proficiency exam, in what authorities believe was a part of an organized effort to cheat.

The Metropolitan Police Department's Nogata Police Station arrested a Chinese student, Wang Likun (27), a graduate student at Kyoto University in Sakyo Ward, Kyoto City, on suspicion of trespassing, for impersonating another person and entering the venue of the TOEIC English proficiency test without a legitimate reason. During questioning, he said, "I entered the building with an ID card that was not my real name..."
