Chinese diving instructor Shang Wei was arrested on September 14th while departing from the Raja Ampat Islands conservation area in Indonesia, where he used a speargun to kill and cook endangered hawksbill turtles. He is currently being transferred to Sorong for investigation.
The Makassar Immigration Department in Indonesia has detained a Chinese citizen, Wei Shang, on suspicion of catching and eating sea turtles in the Raja Ampat protected waters of Papua province.
