Young Child Seriously Injured Falling From Second-Floor Window in Metro Vancouver
Paramedics said the child was conscious and crying before being flown to Children’s Hospital, where he remains in stable condition with serious injuries.
- A three-year-old boy was airlifted to a Hospital on Monday after falling from a second-storey window at a Maple Ridge home.
- Maple Ridge RCMP and Emergency Health Services arrived on 236 Street near 118 Avenue at about 2:30 p.m. to assist the injured child.
- At Alexander Robinson Elementary, Rescue Chief Dave Samson coordinated a helicopter landing zone while Paramedics provided emergency medical treatment before transport.
- The child remains in stable condition with serious injuries at the Hospital. Samson said, "Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and with the young boy."
- Officers stated the fall appears to be an accident with no signs of foul play. RCMP advise parents to ensure windows are properly secured and consider installing safety devices.
