AIADMK's Palaniswami Jibes TVK over ‘Vijay as PM’ Pitch: ‘Could Even Become US President’
He said Tamil Nadu could face Rs 10 lakh crore in debt and cited nearly nine murders in Coimbatore in one month.
AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi Palaniswami mocked Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay's use of chartered flights, sarcastically suggesting he could even become President of the United States.
Palaniswami said the state government appeared focused on social media "reels" rather than governance, citing alleged corruption and protests by farmers and nurses as evidence of dissatisfaction.
The AIADMK leader accused the government of announcing schemes under Rule 110 without financial backing, warning that continued borrowing could push Tamil Nadu's debt to Rs 10 lakh crore.
He called Vijay a "costly Chief Minister" and contrasted his travel expenditure with former chief minister Jayalalithaa, while alleging law and order had deteriorated in Coimbatore with nearly nine murders in one month.
Responding to reports that TVK supporters are projecting Vijay as a future Prime Minister, Palaniswami said there was "nothing wrong" with such ambitions, though he predicted the government would not complete its five-year term.
