Chevron, Engine No. 1 and GE Vernova team up on powering US data centers, with AI in focus

Chevron Corporation is collaborating with Engine No. 1 and GE Vernova to build natural gas-fired power plants near U.S. Data centers to meet rising electricity demands, particularly from artificial intelligence.
The joint venture aims to deliver up to four gigawatts of power, enough for approximately 3.5 million U.S. Homes, with initial service targeted by the end of 2027.
Strategically chosen locations for these projects include the Southeast, Midwest, and West regions of the U.S., focusing on areas with significant data center presence.
Chris James stated that this partnership addresses major energy challenges while supporting America's AI leadership and industrial strength.
