Cheveldayoff listening to offers for Hellebuyck, unwilling to confirm if trade request made
Kevin Cheveldayoff said the Jets are open to moving the three-time Vezina Trophy winner as teams weigh offers.
On Friday, Winnipeg Jets general manager Kevin Cheveldayoff confirmed the organization is listening to trade offers for goaltender Connor Hellebuyck.
The 33-year-old Hellebuyck, a 2025 Hart Trophy and three-time Vezina Trophy winner, has five years remaining on a seven-year contract with a full no-movement clause.
Sources indicate the Carolina Hurricanes made a pitch this week including a first-round pick and pending RFA defenseman Alexander Nikishin, while the Florida Panthers also remain interested.
During a Friday Zoom call, Cheveldayoff stated he is "still listening" to inquiries, emphasizing the organization must prioritize the franchise's long-term interests.
Winnipeg holds the eighth overall pick in tonight's draft while seeking to address roster gaps, particularly a second-line center to strengthen future competitiveness.
