- CCTV footage from Chennai Central showed the couple boarding the Tamil Nadu Express around 10 p.m. on August 3; investigators traced their movements to a rented house on Masuthi Street in Guduvanchery where they had been staying with another woman.
- Police recovered additional body parts believed to be Nisha's from a cooking vessel at the Guduvanchery residence last week; Bhagabati Majhi, the suspected accomplice, remains absconding from the investigation.
- Tambaram City Police Commissioner Prem Anand Sinha formed a special team to monitor the investigation as officers prepare to transport Laskar to Tambaram for questioning following issuance of a transit warrant; the exact motive will be established after interrogation.
