- Raspberry Pi introduced a 1 GB Raspberry Pi 5 priced at $45 and raised prices on seven models across its latest lineup.
- Memory costs have climbed steeply throughout 2025 amid rising AI infrastructure demand and competition for LPDDR4 memory supply, Eben Upton, CEO of Raspberry Pi, said.
- Among the changes, the 2GB Raspberry Pi 5 increased $5 to $55, and the 16GB Raspberry Pi 5 rose $25 to $145, with select Pi 4 and Compute Module models also raising prices.
- The company said it remains committed to driving down computing costs and looks to unwind these price increases once pressure abates, while lower-density Raspberry Pi 4 variants, Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+, and Raspberry Pi Zero remain unchanged.
- In recent weeks, DDR RAM costs have skyrocketed by over 200% and researchers warned of possible year-over-year doubling, while CyberPowerPC plans price changes starting Dec. 7 and HP will adjust configurations next spring.
