EastEnders’ Charlie Brooks and Strictly’s Joe McFadden to Star on Darlington Stage
Brooks and McFadden will play Chris Boone’s parents in the award-winning adaptation, which has been seen by more than 5 million people worldwide.
- Charlie Brooks, known for EastEnders, and Joe McFadden, known for Holby City, will lead the upcoming tour of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time, portraying the parents of protagonist Chris Boone.
- Premiering at the National Theatre in 2012, The Curious Incident has earned widespread acclaim for its emotional storytelling and sensitive depiction of neurodiversity, winning seven Olivier Awards and five Tony Awards.
- Playwright Simon Stephens adapted the novel by Mark Haddon for the stage, while Director Ned Bennett leads the production, noting, "Mark Haddon's novel and Simon Stephens' adaptation combine to create a complex play with remarkable emotional precision."
- Opening at Birmingham Rep on September 5, the tour will visit the Darlington Hippodrome from May 25 to 28, 2027, with box office contact available at 01325 405405.
