Ontario Suspect with Connections to Fraser Valley Facing 1st-Degree Murder Charge
Police say the alleged killing was planned and deliberate, and two suspects remain at large after earlier second-degree murder charges.
On Thursday, the Ontario Provincial Police upgraded charges against Ottawa men Joseph Madore, 34, and Brayton Kennedy, 28, to first-degree murder in the April killing of Christo Allison Richards in Perth.
Officers were called to Last Duel Park on April 12, where they discovered Richards suffering from life-threatening injuries; he was transported to a trauma centre but later died.
Authorities previously charged two others: 46-year-old Michael Lewis in May with conspiracy to commit murder, and 32-year-old Lyna in June with being an accessory after the fact.
Police believe Madore may be in British Columbia near Abbotsford, Chilliwack, Terrace, or Richmond, while Kennedy could be in New Brunswick; officials warn the public to call 911 if they see the suspects.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Lanark County Ontario Provincial Police at 1-888-310-1122, or submit tips anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
