Chargers Center Tyler Biadasz Carted Off with Left Leg Injury in Joint Practice with 49ers
The veteran center was carted off after a 49ers defender fell into his left knee, and rookie Jake Slaughter filled in at center.
On Tuesday, Los Angeles Chargers center Tyler Biadasz suffered an apparent left leg injury during a joint practice with the San Francisco 49ers in El Segundo, requiring a medical cart to exit the field.
General manager Joe Hortiz signed Biadasz to a three-year, $30 million contract this offseason to anchor the interior offensive line after the team allowed 54 sacks in 2025.
Rookie Jake Slaughter, a second-round pick out of Florida, took first-team repetitions at center following the injury, as head coach Jim Harbaugh has lauded the rookie's versatility and physicality.
Receiver Quentin Johnston and outside linebacker Kyle Kennard also exited practice with injuries, compounding the team's health concerns. "Obviously praying for the best," quarterback Justin Herbert said.
Coach Jim Harbaugh previously noted the offensive line had remained healthy throughout training camp, but the team now faces uncertainty managing multiple injuries before preseason play.
