Chandler Blanchet and Kensei Hirata share the lead in Bermuda
Blanchet and Hirata reached 13-under 129 as the 36-hole cut fell at 5-under 137, with five tournaments left to secure PGA Tour status.
American Chandler Blanchet and Kensai Hirata share the lead at 13-under 129 heading into the weekend at the Butterfield Bermuda Championship in Southampton, Bermuda.
The course's primary defense, strong wind, has not been at full strength during opening rounds at Port Royal, enabling unusually low scoring and a 5-under 137 cut.
Blanchet carded a 4-under 67 on Friday, finishing with a creative birdie from 5 feet after a blind shot from a difficult lie on the closing hole.
Hirata joined the lead with a bogey-free 64, while Seamus Power, Corey Conners, Ben Silverman, Eric Cole, and Danny Walker trail by one shot at 12-under.
Defending champion Adam Schenk missed the cut, while five tournaments remain for players to secure full status in the FedEx Cup Fall standings for 2027 PGA Tour eligibility.
