Number of cybersecurity companies in Netherlands skyrocketed in 5 years
The number of cybersecurity companies in the Netherlands has quadrupled in the past five years, according to an ANP analysis of figures from the Dutch Chamber of Commerce’s (KVK) Business Register.At the start of the fourth quarter of 2026, there were 962 cybersecurity companies, compared to 233 in the same quarter of 2021. At the beginning of 2020, there were just over 100 such enterprises in the Netherlands.
Cybersecurity is booming. In the past five years, the number of companies active in this sector has more than quadrupled. As a result, digital surveillance is a significant growth market. According to the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), new legislation and the rise of AI may play a role.
