Dars is preparing the ceremonial opening of the second tube of the Karavanke motorway tunnel in Jesenice today, which is an important part of the European transport network and is considered one of the most important infrastructure projects in Slovenia in recent years. After the ceremony, a special tour of the tunnel for the interested public will be organized.
The new Karawanken tunnel tube will be opened on Wednesday. After the expansion, the old tunnel will now be completely renovated. In autumn 2018, the construction work for the more than four-kilometre long tunnel section through the Karawanken massif started on the Austrian side.
