Clarendon Volunteer Fireman Chris Reuter sprays water on a wildfire east of Citizens Cemetery last Friday, May 8. Fire Chief Jeremy Powell said someone welding outdoors was the source of the blaze that consumed 185 acres. No homes, structures, or livestock were hurt by the fire, which was battled by the Clarendon and Hedley fire departments with the assistance of two county motorgraders.
