Celebrini scores pair to lead Canada to 6-0 victory over Italy at men's hockey worlds
On Saturday, 19-year-old captain Macklin Celebrini scored twice and added an assist, leading Canada to a 6-0 victory over Italy at the world hockey championship in Fribourg.
Canada remains undefeated in Group B after beating Sweden 5-3 on Friday in their opening game, with Denmark awaiting on Monday.
Goaltender Cam Talbot stopped all 19 shots for the shutout, while Dylan Holloway, Fraser Minten, Evan Bouchard, and Ryan Reilly also scored for Canada.
Sidney Crosby, fresh from the NHL playoffs, registered an assist on Celebrini's second goal, a backhand shot high into the net during the middle period.
Elsewhere at the championship, Finland recorded a 4-1 win over Hungary in Group A, while Marek Hrivik scored to lift Slovakia past Norway 2-1 in Fribourg.
