A man who was inducted into the Sport NL Hall of Fame and who was a celebrated softball and senior hockey player has passed away. Ward Gosse began playing minor softball in his hometown of Bay Roberts. He played on the Bay Roberts team that claimed the Provincial Midget Championship in 1986 when the team went on to represent the province at the Midget Boys’ National Championships.
