Carolina Garcia Calexico, California (KYMA) - Mexican Independence Day was celebrated Saturday night at Crummett Park in Calexico with traditional Mexican music concerts, traditional dances, and an exhibition of traditional Mexican clothing. The Mexican Consulate in Calexico led the event, organized by the Rotary Club. Consul Maria del Rocio Vazquez Alvarez performed the traditional "Viva México" in addition to the civic ceremony.
