Caturus and Aramco Trading Americas LLC Sign 20-Year LNG Offtake Agreement
Aramco Trading will buy 1 million tonnes per annum of LNG to diversify supply and strengthen energy security, joining other major international offtakers at Commonwealth LNG.
- Caturus said yesterday that Commonwealth LNG, LLC and Aramco Trading signed a Sale and Purchase Agreement under which Aramco Trading will buy 1 million tonnes per annum of LNG from the Cameron Parish, Louisiana facility.
- Aramco Trading framed the deal as securing a reliable, long-term supply and strengthening LNG presence, while David Lawler said it `highlights the strong international demand for U.S. LNG` and `underscores the differentiated value Caturus can bring through our global reach`.
- Commonwealth's Phase 1 is sized to generate an estimated $3.5 billion in annual export revenue and includes Caturus Energy, LLC, with more than 600 MMcfe/d and a 9.5 Mtpa export terminal project.
- The agreement immediately bolsters project customer base and expects approximately 2,000 peak construction workers plus approximately 300 full-time jobs at operations start in 2030.
- The SPA remains conditional as Technip Energies provides engineering, procurement and construction services, and Commonwealth is advancing toward FID with line of sight to secure remaining capacity.
