In statements to journalists on the sidelines of a meeting of the European Union (EU) economic ministers in Brussels, Manuel Castro Almeida stressed that there is currently a serious problem with energy prices around the world, and, as always, the higher the demand, prices tend to rise, if demand declines, prices tend to fall.
The minister of the economy insisted today that Portuguese families and companies must "do everything" to save fuels, considering that, nowadays, it is the only way to achieve lower prices.
In the case of the current increase in fuel prices, the minister acknowledged that there is currently less supply, but "in Portugal, recently, there was more demand".
