Carson Kvapil Wins Pennzoil 250 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway
Kvapil led the final 22 laps and held off Justin Allgaier by 0.643 seconds for his first NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series victory.
On Saturday, Carson Kvapil won the Pennzoil 250 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, capturing his first career victory in the NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series in his 64th start.
Leading 23 laps, the 23-year-old from Mooresville, North Carolina, secured his victory by passing teammate Ross Chastain with 22 laps remaining in the race.
JR Motorsports dominated the final stages, completing a 1-2-3-4 sweep with Justin Allgaier finishing second, Ross Chastain third, and Chase Elliott fourth.
Kvapil's victory propelled him from fifth to second in the standings with only two races remaining before The Chase postseason begins.
As the series heads to Iowa and Daytona for final qualifying, William Sawalich sits 13th, the first driver below the 12-driver playoff cutoff.
