The cars were part of a financing of the PRR. Rui Lopo, president of Carris, added that by the end of the year will be invested 2 million euros for electricity infrastructures.
The new fleet represents an investment of more than €31 million and integrates the company's strategy to reduce the use of diesel vehicles and decarbonise the operation by 2030.
Today, Carris presented 29 new fully electric standard buses, the last financed through the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR), budgeted at 17.05 million euros (ME), within a total investment that exceeds 31 ME.
"Carris currently has 103 electric buses, and when these 29 are in operation, more than 50% of our kilometers covered will be by non-diesel vehicles," said Rui Lopo.
Buses were funded through the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR).
