Carrefour Romania's stores to be given a new, yet familiar-sounding name - RetailDetail EU
Carrefour's nearly 500 stores in Romania, which were acquired earlier this year by the local company Pavăl Holding, will all be given a completely new identity starting next year, under the somewhat familiar-sounding name Korra.
Thirty new lease agreements, nearly 70% of contracts extended, and a vacancy rate of 2.4% – this is the current balance for 2026 in shopping centers owned by Carrefour Polska. The chain is expanding its real estate portfolio, acquiring new tenants and optimizing available retail space.
IKEA in Białystok, Jula in Kalisz, and more brands in Gdańsk. Carrefour is preparing autumn openings in its shopping centers. Some of the new stores are occupying space allocated from downsized hypermarkets.
Following the sale of its Italian and Romanian businesses, Carrefour is focusing its operations on its core markets. The new owners of 478 stores in Romania are already preparing to rebrand, while various scenarios remain possible in Poland.
