Clinical director of the Regional Hospital San Francisco de Assisi, Cape Verde, revealed that a pregnant woman, a few weeks old, survived the accident with a bus on Saturday on the island of Fire in Cape Verde. A six-year-old also had a discharge.
The councillor for Cape Verde of the Council of the Portuguese Communities says that he was "deeply dismayed" by the accident that he considers to be "the biggest accident" in the country.
The waste of the bus transporting 39 people caused 25 deaths and 14 injured, most of them children and young people. Thirteen of the victims remain hospitalized at the Regional Hospital San Francisco de Assisi, according to the most recent assessment of the authorities
Cape Verde Road Institute should travel to the accident site to assess the conditions of the route and the circumstances of the occurrence, the Head of Government said.
