WESTERLY — Town officials have banned all cabanas and tent structures from Westerly Town Beach, after receiving “dozens and dozens” of complaints last year that the structures were overcrowding the shoreline, creating safety hazards, and taking up too much space.

The town also reminded beachgoers that stakes in the ground and roped structures can pose an injury risk and are strictly prohibited.
