The Canon EOS R6 V Removes the R6 III's EVF and Adds an Internal Fan
The new model adds Canon’s 32.5MP sensor, 7K recording and a kit lens, with UK pricing set at £2,400.
- On Thursday, May 14, 2026, Canon unveiled the EOS R6 V, a video-centric mirrorless camera priced at $2,499. Designed for creators, the device features a 32.5-megapixel full-frame sensor inherited from the EOS R6 Mark III.
- Canon expanded its 'V' series to include full-frame capabilities, with the designation denoting video. Positioned above the APS-C Canon EOS R50 V, the new model targets creators seeking professional video performance without cinema camera complexity.
- The highly customizable camera includes 12 assignable buttons and a 3-inch vari-angle touchscreen for self-recording. Featuring an internal cooling fan, the R6 V supports extended 7K recording times, addressing creator workflow demands.
- Customers can purchase the camera body for $2,499 or in a kit with the new RF 20-50mm F4 L IS USM PZ lens for $3,699. Canon expects the equipment to begin shipping in late June.
- While the camera lacks an electronic viewfinder and mechanical shutter, it remains capable of shooting 32.5-megapixel stills at 40fps. This trade-off prioritizes video-first ergonomics over traditional photography features found in the EOS R6 Mark III.
