B.C. New Democrats One Short of Full Slate, only Conservatives Field 93 Candidates
Elections BC said all 93 ridings are set after nominations closed, with advance voting running Oct. 16 to 21.
- Elections BC finalized the candidate list for the Oct. 24 provincial election on Saturday, Oct. 3, with 355 candidates running across all 93 British Columbia ridings.
- Unlike the Conservatives, the B.C. New Democratic Party is fielding 92 candidates after failing to nominate a representative in Peace River North, while the B.C. Conservative Party alone runs the full slate of 93.
- Among smaller parties, the Green Party is running 73 candidates, while CentreBC has 35 and OneBC has 33. Overall, 340 candidates represent ten political parties, with 15 running as independent or unaffiliated.
- Advance voting will run from Oct. 16 to 21, with Final Voting Day on Oct. 24. Voting places open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Pacific time.
- British Columbians can request vote-by-mail packages online or by phone until Oct. 18. Voters can find assigned voting locations on the Elections BC website.
