California Assembly passes bill banning 'toxic' chemicals in Skittles, PEZ, Hot Tamales and more

Summary by Ground News
California has moved one step closer to banning certain "toxic" ingredients commonly found in Skittles, PEZ, Hot Tamales and many more popular candies. The California Assembly last week overwhelmingly passed Assembly Bill 418, sending the legislation over to the state Senate. The bill would prohibit the manufacture, sale, or distribution of products containing Red Dye No. 3, Titanium Dioxide, Potassium Bromate, Brominated Vegetable Oil, or Propyl Paraben in the Golden State. The food and beverage industry opposes the bill.
