California aerospace company leases large facility in Kent

California-Based Cowboy Space leased a 291,035-square-foot former Costco warehouse in Kent this month, transforming the facility into an advanced manufacturing operation supporting rocket and space development, Newmark Real Estate announced.
Originally designed for large-scale logistics, the facility offers the significant power and floor plates aerospace firms require, said Newmark Vice Chairman Taylor Hoff, positioning the Kent Valley to meet surging demand for specialized manufacturing.
About 300 new jobs will be added to the Puget Sound region's growing aerospace industry, City of Kent chief economic development officer Bill Ellis said, as the site joins aerospace leaders Blue Origin, Stoke Space, and Boeing.
To address energy constraints for Earth-based AI, Cowboy Space will launch the Stampede Constellation, solar-powered orbital data centers designed to leverage Low Earth Orbit and bypass grid power limitations, according to Geekwire.
Newmark Research identified this as the largest industrial lease in the Puget Sound region this year, while the company aims to send its own rockets into Low Earth Orbit as early as 2028 supporting the Stampede Constellation.
