Cadbury confirms it has shrunk 2 popular products in move dubbed a 'last resort'
The tubs now weigh 475g, about 14% less than before, and Cadbury says higher supply chain costs forced the change.
Cadbury is shrinking Cadbury Heroes and Roses tubs to 475g while keeping prices steady at about £4.50, reducing two of its most popular products.
The company described the downsizing as a "last resort" after experiencing "significantly higher input costs across our supply chain," with products becoming much more expensive to make.
Popular varieties including Cadbury Dairy Milk, Twirl, Fudge, Hazel Whirl, and Creamy Orange remain in the tubs, which are particularly sought after during Christmas.
Reactions are mixed: one shopper called the move "shrinkflation" and criticized recyclability, while another stated, "Dont care will still them at Christmas!"
Mondelez International recently launched three new bars of The Cadbury Dairy Milk Grab in a 56g resealable format, designed for portability and targeting younger on-the-go snackers.
