Coca-Cola lifts profit forecast as international soda demand holds firm
Stronger international soda sales and pricier beverages helped offset higher input costs, while adjusted earnings per share topped estimates, the company said.
On Tuesday, Coca-Cola reported third-quarter revenue of US$13.38 billion, a 7.4% increase that beat analysts' estimates of US$12.92 billion, prompting the company to raise its annual profit forecast.
Growth in India, China, Mexico, and Brazil lifted global unit case volumes about 5%, while resilient demand for zero-sugar sodas and fairlife milk strengthened results across markets.
Operating margins rose to 33.4% during the quarter, though the company faces higher packaging costs as the war in Iran drives up commodity prices for aluminum and PET materials.
Jefferies analyst Kaumil Gajrawala said "the gap between Coke and peers is widening," noting that companies delivering volume growth should outperform in the current market environment.
Coca-Cola now expects comparable currency-neutral earnings per share to grow at least 9% in 2026, while targeting annual organic revenue growth of at least 5%, both raised from prior forecasts.
Coca-Cola achieved higher revenue and profit in the third quarter. The company sold more soft drinks, with the popularity of the brand's sugar-free variants continuing to rise. Additionally, prices increased.
