NEDERLAND, COLORADO, JUL 9 – Nederland plans to issue municipal revenue bonds backed by Eldora Mountain Resort's profits to finance the purchase and integrate resort employees into town staff.
- The Town of Nederland announced on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, that it has signed a term sheet to purchase Eldora Mountain Resort from POWDR.
- Talks began last fall, accelerated post a confidentiality agreement signed January 10, 2025, and culminated in the term sheet signed Tuesday.
- Eldora sits about five miles west of Nederland, spans 680 acres, and POWDR plans to continue running the resort for two years during transition.
- Town officials estimate the purchase will cost $100 million to $200 million, to be financed by municipal revenue bonds repaid solely from Eldora's earnings.
- If finalized by October 2025, the deal will make Nederland one of the few Colorado towns to own a ski area, enabling development into a sustainable year-round resort.
