Businessman Puiu Popoviciu was definitively acquitted in the Băneasa case, the High Court of Cassation and Justice rejecting as unfounded the appeals filed by the DNA and the Ministry of Finance and the University of Agronomic Sciences and Veterinary Medicine in Bucharest against the decision pronounced by the Bucharest Court of Appeal which annulled the sentence by which Popoviciu had initially been sentenced to seven years in prison.

Puiu Popoviciu had been definitively sentenced to seven years in prison in this case.

Businessman Puiu Popoviciu was definitively acquitted in the "Băneasa" case, one of the biggest corruption scandals since 2000.
