Germany has more than doubled its economic growth forecast for this year after a better-than-expected first half of the year. The government’s autumn forecast sees gross domestic product (GDP) expanding by 1.3 percent in 2026, the fastest pace since 2017, up from 0.5 percent in April. Strong exports and a surge in government spending have more than offset weak consumer spending, Bloomberg reported.
The German Ministry of Economic Affairs significantly increased its growth forecast for 2026 after a stronger-than-anticipated GDP in the first half of the year.

Only the leading economic institutes have raised the economic forecast for Germany, now the Federal Government. In the current year, Schwarz-Rot expects growth of 1.3 percent.
