EXCLUSIVE-German Government Raises Forecasts for 2026 and 2027, Source Said
The German government raised its economic growth forecast to 1.3% for 2026 and 1.1% for 2027, a person familiar with the draft told Reuters on Thursday.
Despite higher prices from the Iran conflict and uncertainty caused by tariffs, the German economy showed resilience with 0.3% growth in the second quarter.
Inflation reached 3.3% in September, the highest level in three years, with the government forecasting rates of 2.7% in 2026 and 3.0% in 2027 before easing to 2.2% in 2028.
